Khoroni Hotel, Casino and Convention Resort, located in the heart of Thohoyandou, has appointed Jacqueline Makgakga to Human Resources Manager. In her new role Makgakga will be responsible for leading and managing the resort’s HR team, ensuring that employees’ needs are met and that company policies are followed. “I am grateful for this opportunity, particularly because I can now play an active role in developing the community I grew up in,” Makgakga excitedly quips. She will also be responsible for managing employee performance management processes and will report the team’s activities and progress to the General Manager
Makgakga started her career as a recruitment officer for the Shoprite Recruitment Hub in Johannesburg, and later moved into the role of Human Resources Administrator at Redis Construction Afrika. She then joined KPMG as Human Resources Officer focused mainly on Employee Information Systems, where she was then promoted to a specialist human resources role, looking after the company’s tax and legal department. She later joined the Smollan Group as its Human Resources Officer, providing support to the company’s technology business unit. “My goal is to actively live the Peermont way, ensuring fairness, consistency and non-bias in operations and decision making. I hope to add value in all aspects of my role, contributing to the growth of this resort and the Peermont Group,” she concludes.
